Council & Municipal Weather update: Wed PM

Wexford Council Offices closed

Met Eireann has issued a Status Red Weather Warning for Wexford effective from 4pm tomorrow to 12 Midday on Friday 2nd.Due to adverse weather conditions, all Wexford County Council Offices including libraries, will close to the public on Thursday & Friday 1st & 2nd March. Our phone lines will remain open from 9am-5pm on both days on 05391 96000. Emergency after hours number is 1890 666 777.

It is anticipated that normal services will resume at 9am on Monday 5th March.

The current situation in the New Ross District is as follows:

  • Salting of regular designated routes and town will take place again this evening.
  • Ploughs, grit and other suitable machinery is on standby for use on a priority basis from tomorrow evening/Friday.
  • The Tholsel will be closed to public tomorrow Thurs and Friday but will be manned for calls.
  • Non-essential services will not be provided on Thurs/Fri.
  • Any medical emergencies or medical issues must be routed through HSE/999. All non-essential travel should be avoided, including walking, from lunchtime tomorrow through to Friday afternoon especially.
